Junior Patriots (Levels 1 - 3):
Junior Patriots represent our Pre-Team gymnasts, girls who are on track to particiate on the competitive team. These gymnasts receive more structured, in-depth training than what is offered in the recreational classes. Level 1 and 2 gymnasts have the opportunity to participate in a few local fun meets. In addition to the fun meets, Level 3 gymnasts participate in a few sanctioned competitions. These meets provide an opportunity for our Pre-Team gymnasts to experience what it will be like to compete in a real meet. Junior Patriots are instructor recommendation ONLY. Children in recreational classes who display team potential are often recommended to move to the Junior Patriots.
Girls Competitive Gymnastics Teams (Levels 4 - 8):
The WISC Competitive Gymnastics Team is comprised of girls ages 6-16 who compete through USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Program in Levels 4 through 8. Beginning at Level 4, gymnasts participate in USA Gymnastics sanctioned competitions in the Hampton Roads and Richmond regions, as well as other localities both in and out of state. As gymnasts progress through the levels, the practice schedules and skills become more intense and the time commitment increases. Gymnasts progress through USA Gymnastics compulsories in Levels 4 - 6 and optional Levels 7 - 8. Placement on the WISC Girls Competitive Gymnastics Team is by coach recommendation only.
Virginia All Stars Program (Prep-Optional):
These teams are designed specially for those gymnasts who want to compete but do not meet the skill requirements required of the Junior Olympic (J.O.) Program or do not want to take on the full-time commitment of the J.O. Program. This team gives gymnasts the opportunity to continue to compete, but participation involves less intense schedules and practices. We offer the VA All Stars Program in two levels, the Novices and Intermediates.
